CAF Women’s C/League Qualifier: Rivers Angels Thrash AS Police, Reach WAFU Zone B Semi-final

Nigeria’s sole representative Rivers Angels have qualified for the semi-finals of the WAFU Zone B Women’s Champions League qualification tournament with a resounding 5-0 win over Niger Republic’s Association Sportive de la Police de Niamey.

It was Rivers Angels’ second win in Group B in the tournament holding in Cote d’Ivoire.

They opened their campaign with a 2-0 win against Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies few days ago.

A brace from Maryann Ezenagu (45th, 77th minutes), a goal each from Alice Ogebe (36th minute), Oghenebrume Ikekhua (13th) and an own goal from the opposition player Chisa Marceline Bekumaka, sealed the comfortable win.

They will now wait for the runners-up in Group A in the semi-final which will hold August 2.

The maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League will take place in Egypt later this year.
