The incident happened at Mounted Troops Police Barracks in Ikeja area of Lagos, where they reside.

Samuel Effiok, a 28-year old man, has been arrested for allegedly engaging an 8-year old girl in sex inside Police Barracks.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Mounted Troops Police Barracks in Ikeja area of Lagos, where they reside.

According to the Police, the suspect, Effiok, allegedly lured the little girl into an apartment in the afternoon, removed her pant and penetrated her in the process. He reportedly injured her due to forcefully penetration during the dastardly act.

Having satisfied himself, he allowed the girl to go with the injury she sustained in her private part. The girl reported what happened to her parents, who then contacted the Police. Effiok was arrested and after thorough interrogation, he was charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.

The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since the victim is still a minor.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Ajibade, ordered his remand in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP.

The matter was adjourned till 6th September, 2021, for the report of the DPP to be ready while the matter may likely be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends for his trial over jurisdiction.
