The police patrol team flagged down a lady’s motorcycle with three passengers and upon reasonable suspicion, they were searched and in the process, the gun and ammunition were seen in the possession of the suspect.

An okada passenger, Oghenenyerhovwo Solomon has been apprehended by the Isiokolo Divisional patrol team, in conjunction with vigilante on a routine stop-and-search duty and nabbed with one cut-to-size locally-made double-barrel gun in Okpara-Okurekpo road in Ethiope-East Local Government Area of Delta State.

The police also impounded a motorcycle from the suspect.

The suspect is a resident of Uruegbe Street, Okpara.

This is coming as two others escaped into the bush from the scene of the incident.

It was learnt that the police patrol team flagged down a lady’s motorcycle with three passengers and upon reasonable suspicion, they were searched and in the process, the gun and ammunition were seen in the possession of the suspect, Solomon.

The Delta State Police Command, led by CP Ari Mohammed Ali, confirmed the report in a statement signed by the acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe.

He said,”efforts to arrest the two suspects at large are being intensified.”
