The moment an alligator rose out of murky Florida waters towards a 7-year-old boy who was fishing in his own back garden of their Palm Coast home has been shared online.

The little boy, Dawson, had just caught a fish and was reeling it in when an alligator emerged from the water.

Luckily, Dawson escaped unhurt but the alligator grabbed his fishing pole and the fish he caught.

Dawson’s father, Sean McMahon shared the video on Facebook.

“Dawson caught a bass tonight and out of nowhere an alligator came up, ate the bass and ripped his pole into the water!” the dad said.
