He died while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kano, following injuries sustained in a car accident on October 4.

Dr Mohammad Gishiwa, the provost of Umar Suleiman College of Education, Gashua has lost his life at the age of 53.

Gishiwa died on Sunday while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kano, following injuries sustained in a car accident on October 4.

Mr Hassan Bulama, Deputy Provost of the college, confirmed the death to the News Agency of Nigeria in Damaturu on Monday.

Bulama said that the deceased would be buried at about 2:00 pm in Gashua.

Also, Alhaji Ali Gishiwa, a brother to the deceased, said that arrangements were on to convey the remains of the decease to Gashua for burial.

NAN reports that Gishiwa was appointed Provost in 2016, and he was serving his second tenure at the time of his death.
