Salisu Yusuf has expressed gratitude to God, the Nigeria Football Federation and all those who had a say in his being reappointed as the first assistant coach of the Super Eagles, Completesports reports
Yusuf who was suspended over a reported bribery case prior to the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN), has since served out the one year ban. Yusuf joined Nigeria Professional Football League giants, Enugu Rangers FC after serving his one year ban.
“I am so glad getting another opportunity to serve my country and I will as usual give it my best to help the Super Eagles attain greater heights. I am grateful to God, the president of NFF Amaju Piñnick and his Executive Committee members and top officials of the football house,” Yusuf told Completesports.
“The incident that led to my suspension was very unfortunate and even though I hate discussing it, I must say I am wiser and will ensure it never happens again. During my suspension, I traversed the length and breath of this country working with Rangers and it was worthwhile.”
Salisu Yusuf is expected to resume on November 1st 2021 as the first assistant to Gernot Rohr. He will also be in charge of home-based CHAN Eagles.
