Leader of the Pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo has promised to formally reply the former Interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bisi Akande who took a swipe at him in his new book, “My Participations” released last week.

Akande had in the book described Chief Ayo Adebanjo as politically irrelevant. He also said Adebanjo pressurised former Lagos Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to build his house in Lekki.
According to the former Osun Governor, Adebanjo is “a blank politically-minded leader who does not have what it takes to contest political positions.”
On the issue of restructuring, Akande noted that what APC promised was devolution of power and not restructuring.
He stated that the responsibility for restructuring lies with the National Assembly which has representatives from every part of the country.
When contacted by Daily Trust, Adebanjo promised to reply to Akande next week after having the full details of his narrative about him.
Asked to comment on the attack against him, he said, “I will give my reply next week.
“I want to read everything the papers have published. Up until now, I have not read anything. I want to read all.”
He, however, described the publication of the book as a “diversion” to evade the pressing imperative of changing the constitution.
“I don’t want any diversion. Everything it is about is just a diversion. Change the constitution before the election. Look at the insecurity in the country, how people are being killed every day, and they are talking about this (Akande’s book). So, I’m not interested in that. Anyway, there would be an appropriate answer at the right time.”
