A resident of the community, Mr Ikyur, said the cause of the fire incident has not been unraveled, saying “it was a shock to everyone”.

Daily Post reports that a mortuary at the Agagbe Community in Gwer-west Local Government Area of Benue State has been gutted by fire.

It was learnt that the inferno, which occurred on Friday evening, led to the burning of bodies deposited at the morgue beyond recognition.

A resident of the community, Mr Ikyur, who spoke with our correspondent, said the cause of the fire incident has not been unraveled, saying “it was a shock to everyone”.

Meanwhile, some persons have taken to their social media handles, particularly Facebook to react to the incident.
