The Group Managing Director of the NNPC Limited, Mele Kyari has begged Nigerians over the importation of toxic fuel which has resulted in scarcity of petrol across the country.

Kyari, who appeared before the House of Representatives Committee on Petroleum Resources Downstream investigating the importation of adulterated fuel, said NNPC was not aware of the presence of methanol in the fuel imported.

He said the loading terminal where the fuel was brought into the country has been supplying gasoline for a very long time, pointing out they have been a major terminal supplying fuel to not only West Africa but to many countries in Europe.

He assured the NNPC Limited was doing everything possible to ensure that fuel supply across the country is normalised, asking Nigerians to avoid antic buying of fuel.
