Sadio Mané’s level of respect for Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah is unapparelled after the Senegalese requested the English giants to not celebrate his AFCON success because of the Egyptian forward.
The AFCON winner played his first game at Anfield since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday, and there were plans to organise a congratulatory welcome for the Senegalese hero.
However, The Mirror reports that Sadio Mané made a special request to the club to boycott a celebratory ceremony for him out of respect for Salah.
Sadio Mané led Senegal to victory against Mohamed Salah’s Egypt in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations. Mane missed a penalty in regulation time but scored the winning spot kick to hand the Teranga Lions their first-ever AFCON title.
Mané was adjudged player of the tournament after netting three goals and providing two assists at the tournament in Cameroon.
