The man was rescued from being lynched by members of his community at the Kuntau area of Kano metropolis.

“A security operative has been arrested by officials of the Kano State Hisbah for allegedly tearing and stepping on portions of the Holy Quran.

The man said to be in his early 20s was rescued from being lynched by members of his community at the Kuntau area of Kano metropolis.

He was subsequently handed over to the Kano state police command.

The state police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the incident which happened on Sunday February 20.

He disclosed that the suspect is still in police custody.
