European champions Italy have once again missed out of World Cup qualification after a shock 1-0 home loss to minnows North Macedonia in the playoffs semi-finals on Thursday.

Italy’s World Cup dream is in tatters! Aleksandar Trajkovski scored a stunning last-minute winner for North Macedonia.

Trajkovski managed to gain possession after a long goal kick from Macedonia’s goalkeeper and he shifted onto his right foot before letting fly from 25 yards out, with the ball sneaking past Gianluigi Donnarumma at the far post.
