The Peoples Democratic Party on Friday began screening candidates for its presidential ticket.
 
The process is currently ongoing in Abuja, according to TheNation.
 
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; former Senate President, Bukola Saraki; a United States based medical doctor, Nwachukwu Anakwenze; and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim have already been screened.
 
Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike is presently facing the screening panel.
 
Former Ekiti Governor, Ayo Fayose; former Anambra Governor, Peter Obi; and Akwa Ibom S
 
Governor, Udom Emmanuel are in an adjoining room waiting to take their turn.
 
Journalists are not allowed to observe the screening exercise as they are barred from accessing the venue.

The 17 aspirants in the race are: Bukola Saraki, Aminu Tambuwal, Atiku Abubakar, Pius Anyim, Peter Obi, Sam Ohuabunwa, Dele Momodu, Nwachukwu Anakwenze, Udom Emmanuel, Nyesom Wike, Bala Mohammed, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, Ayo Fayose, Cosmos Ndukwe, Charles Ugwu, Chikwendu Kalu, Tariele Diana Oliver (female aspirant).
