It was learnt that the two victims were on their way to a Kalabari community when they were rounded up by the assailants.

“Two passengers have been abducted by unknown gunmen in Rivers State.

The passengers were reportedly whisked away from Emohua-Kalabari Road in the afternoon.

Police spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko, who confirmed the incident, said policemen had been deployed to secure the freedom of the victims.

Iringe-Koko said: “Police are aware of the incident. There were two passengers and a driver in the vehicle. The driver escaped and the two passengers were kidnapped.

Mobilisation has been made to ensure that the victims are released unconditionally.
