Meet one of those rare center-backs with the heart of a striker in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

Wikki Tourists’ Nelson Abiam netted twice in their last two Bauchi FA Cup victories as his side went on to clinch a spot in this year’s Aiteo Cup rounds.

During their semi-final game against Warinji Football Club, Nelson Abiam opened the scoring for the NPFL side from a direct freekick. The game ended 2-0.

Again in the Bauchi FA Cup final against ABJ FC on Wednesday, Abiam netted again through a calm and composed finish.

He ended the tournament as the highest scoring center-back and overall top scorer.

Recall that the first goal in the Nigeria Professional Football League in 2022 was scored by Nelson Abiam via a direct freekick.
