A quick check on Funke’s Instagram account on Friday, July 1 revealed that the actress has not publicly addressed the matter since the post was made 24 hours ago.

Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Funke Akindele has kept mum on her marital crisis with husband and rapper,  Abdulrasheed Bello, better known as JJC Skillz.

JJC Skillz left a shocking message for his Instagram followers on the platform on Thursday, June 30 where he announced his separation from the actress.

According to the rapper, the last two years have been difficult for them and he tried his best to make things work. He added that Funke asked him to leave the house three months ago.

Speaking further, the father of twins stated that he tried his best to fix things but he believes it is beyond repair.

He wrote: “Dear Friends and family I need to let you know that Funke and I have separated. While it lasted we shared a lot of things together and have created 2 beautiful children. The last two years have been extremely difficult for us. I know I have tried my best to fix things but I believe it is beyond repair now.

“3 months ago and at Funke’s insistence I moved out of the house and apart from AMVCA have not been able to get Funke to sit down in an amicable manner to discuss the future of our relationship. I’m making this announcement so that the public is clear that we both are pursuing separate lives. We still have issues that need to be addressed such as the custody and wellbeing of our children which is paramount as well as business interests that need to be disentangled but I have no doubt that these will be resolved one way or the other.”

Funke and JJC got married in a private ceremony in London on August 23, 2016, the eve of her 39th birthday.

The couple welcomed their twins in 2018.
