Juventus have softened their demand for Chelsea’s top target, Matthijs de Ligt.

The Blues are now making good progress in their negotiations to sign the Netherlands international

Following the departure of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, the west London club are out to sign at least two defenders this summer.

They have identified de Ligt and Manchester City defender Nathan Ake. Juventus have already turned down the Blues offer of €40m (£34.4m) plus Timo Werner.

De Ligt wants a move to Chelsea and while Old Lady had wanted his £102m clause to be met, The Telegraph reports now that the desire of the defender to leave Turin is forcing that valuation down.

Chelsea are also prepared to offer Werner or Christian Pulisic as part of the deal.

Juventus meanwhile, have made it clear that they will not hold onto a player who is not 100 percent committed.
