Former England number one, Paul Robinson has told Liverpool to ensure Naby Keita remains at the club beyond this summer.
The Guinean is being linked with a move outside Anfield as his current deal expires in the next 12 months.
Mohamed Salah on Friday announced he will remain in Liverpool till 2025 after putting pen on paper on a deal that makes him the highest earner in the club’s history.
Others such as Roberto Firmino and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also have one season left in their contracts.
However, Living is eager to keep the midfielder on a long-term deal and Robinson wants the new deal to be a priority for the Merseyside club in this window.
“He had a lot of game time last season and he played well. I was really impressed by him,” the former England number one told Football Insider.
“When you consider that (Sadio) Mane has gone… and (Roberto) Firmino only have a year left it is important that you keep Keita. You don’t want too much upheaval in the squad.”
