ASUU Strike: Buhari Is Weak, His Appointees Ignored Him – Ganduje’s Former Aide, Yakasai

A former media aide to Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, has slammed the Nigerian President.

He labelled President Muhammadu Buhari as “weak”.

He stated this after the two-week ultimatum Buhari gave for resolution of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike elapsed.

Yakasai tweeted: “I’ve never seen a weak president like @MBuhari. He gives directives to his appointees and they ignore it without consequences.

“He gave 2 weeks ultimatum for ASUU strike to be resolved, nobody took him seriously & the time has elapsed. Shamefully embarrassing to say the least!”

Buhari, on July 19, directed the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, to resolve the prolonged strike and report back to him in two weeks’ time.

ASUU has been on strike since February 14, 2022, over the inability of the federal government to meet their demands.
