The fire incident destroyed property and goods worth N40 million in the market.

There was a fire outbreak at Potiskum main market in Dogo Nini ward, Patiskum Local Government Area of Yobe State.

During the outbreak, 86 shops were razed to the ground.
 
Chairman of Traders Association in the Market, Alhaji Nasiru Mato, told Daily Trust that the fire incident which occurred on Sunday, January 8, around 8:36pm destroyed property and goods worth N40 million in the market.

Mato added that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
