Labour Party’s Candidate Defeats 16 Years Member Of House Of Representatives In Kaduna

Ekene Adams Abubakar, the Labour Party candidate for the House of Representatives, has scored a stunning victory/

He defeated the 16 years member of the Green Chamber representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency, Yakubu Barde in the last Saturday’s election in Kaduna State.

Yakubu Barde has been a member of the House of Representatives, representing Chikun/Kajuru Federal constituency since 2003.

Announcing the results in Kaduna on Monday, the returning officer, Professor Bashir Abubakar explained that the Labour Party candidate defeated the incumbent with 57,725 votes against the PDP candidate who polled 47,937 votes, while APC’s Caino Cafra Boaz came third with 19,293 votes.

The returning officer stated that Ekene, having met the requirements of the law, was declared elected.
