The new Rector is an Associate Professor at Abia State University, Uturu, and has a law firm in Aba.

The Rector of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, Prof Osonwa Okorie has been suspended.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State suspended the Rector in a statement issued by the Governor and signed by the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Barr Chris Ezem.

The Governor appointed a new Rector, Associate Professor Hagler Okorie, to replace the suspended Okorie.

Though no reason was given for the removal of the former Rector, the Governor said the suspension of the ex-Rector and his replacement were with immediate effect.

The new Rector is an Associate Professor at Abia State University, Uturu, and has a law firm in Aba.

Okorie hails from Ohafia LGA of the State.
