The Abia State Polytechnic staff were overjoyed after receiving their long-awaited salary arrears from the Abia State Governor on September 13, 2024.

The state government made a statement outlining its strategy to clear the vast N16.5 billion debt left by the previous administration.

This debt was owed to employees of state-owned institutions. The state’s Finance Commissioner, Mr Mike Akpara, validated this statement and added that the government has planned to pay the arrears in several allotments.
