
Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has announced his retirement from international football after nearly 15 years with the national team.
Musa, Nigeria’s most capped international footballer, made the announcement in an emotional post shared on X (formerly Twitter), expressing gratitude to Nigerians for their steadfast support throughout his career.
Over the course of his career, Musa earned 111 caps, making him the most capped player in the history of Nigerian football.
According to him, Nigeria’s victory at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and his goals on the FIFA World Cup stage were among the highlights he treasured most.
Musa scored four goals at the World Cup, making him Nigeria’s highest goalscorer in the tournament’s history.
