On Monday 1 February an angry mob lynched a cobbler, Musa Ibrahim to death by setting him ablaze for stabbing a boy in Calabar.
Vanguard learned that the incident ensued when the cobbler finished mending the boy’s shoes and argument erupted over terms of payment for service delivered, this led to a fight. Out of provocation Ibrahim brought out his dagger and stabbed the boy. This incident occurred at No.36 Abang Asang Street in Akim Qua town, Calabar Municipality.
While Ibrahim was trying to escape after stabbing the unidentified young man, angry youths in the area pursued and lynched him to death by burning him with tyres reported an eyewitness to Vanguard who preferred anonymity.
