Army Officer Who Survived Peace Keeping Mission, Killed By Armed Bandits (Photos)






It was reported that two soldiers were killed on Wednesday in a gun battle with armed bandits in a village in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The soldiers lost their lives in a fierce shoot-out between them and the bandits.

The army in a press statement released by the director Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu – confirmed the death of the army officer and a soldier who were lost during the encounter . The remains of the officer and soldier has been evacuated to Federal Medical Center Gusau.

One of the soldiers has been identified as Captain Suleiman Muhammed who reportedly survived peace keeping mission and Boko Haram war in the northeast but was finally killed in Zamfara.

Wednesday’s shootout occurs about a week after over 50 people were killed by bandits in Bawar daji district of the local government.

The governor directed the military to shoot on sight anybody found with arms in the bush.
