The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has been told to arrest Nigeria’s Attorney-General of the federation, Abubakar Malami for trading Bitcoin.

 The call was made by a former presidential aide, Reno Omokri.

 This comes after Malami had on Tuesday posted a screenshot to show that he has deactivated his Twitter. However, it was discovered from the screenshot he posted that he uses a cryptocurrency, LAtoken to trade bitcoin. It was also discovered that he used VPN to access his Twitter account.

 Reacting to this, Omokri in a series of tweets, urged the EFCC to immediately arrest Malami. “AGF Malami has been caught red handed with proof that he dabbles in #Bitcoin trading through @latokens in violation of the law he banning #Cryptocurrency. He must address this issue.

If Buhari’s Attorney General, Malami, who is meant to enforce the ban on #Crypto, is himself trading in it, then @officialEFCC should arrest him before they arrest you.” 

Recall also that Malami had some days ago given an order for the arrest and prosecution of those using VPN to access Twitter.
