Premier League giants Arsenal are confident of landing Thomas Lemar from Monaco in January for a record fee of £92million according to reports.

The Gunners missed the signing of the French attacker on the deadline day of the summer transfer, but Arsenal are now confident that the winger will complete a move to early next year window.

According to Daily Star that Arsenal have verbally agreed to a deal with the 21-year-old on a five-year-deal worth £250,000-a-week, after both club reach agreement that will Lemar leave Stade Louis II for Emirate Stadium in January.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told associates the Lemar deal does not hinge on Alexis Sanchez being sold in the New Year.

Sanchez was set to move to Manchester City last week until Arsenal pulled the plug at the last minute after they fell short of his £60m price tag.

Wenger said yesterday that he believed Sanchez could even sign a new deal with Arsenal. But the reality is the former Barcelona star could leave the Gunners for just £20m in the new year.

Lemar was said to have snubbed a move to the Gunners, who have endured a terrible start to their Premier League campaign.

Arsenal who start the season on the miserable note just one win from three Premier League games with a 4-0 whitewash at the hands of Liverpool before the international break.
