“Ashamed of my country, ashamed of human kind” Italians reacts on twitter to the murder of Emmanuel Nnamdi

The murder of Nigerian migrant, Emmanuel Chidi Nnamdi who was beaten to death in a racist attack is currently trending across Italy. Prime Minister Matteo Renzi took to Twitter to condemn the “hatred, racism and violence”.

Interior Minister Angelino Alfano attended a security meeting in Fermo today, after which he announced that Chinyere would be granted refugee status. Laura Bolderini, president of the chamber of deputies, spoke of her dismay and outrage on hearing the news that the Nigerian was killed because of “hatred, racism and xenophobia”

The suspect identified as Amedeo Mancini, 36, was arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday morning.
