Atletico Madrid’s Angel Correa produced an emotional show of support to his cancer-stricken mother Marcela as the striker shaved his head.

The Argentinian forward shared his new look on Instagram stood alongside his mother, with both seen smiling in the heartwarming mother-son photo.

Captioning the photo, Correa wrote: ‘There is no ceasefire out on the field of battle for your enemy, they may touch your body but they cannot touch your soul.

‘They won’t take away the person you are. I love you Mum.’

The post has been liked more than 125,000 times and his team-mates quickly showed their support in the comments.

Both Saul Niguez and Koke used emojis, one clapping and the other with a bicep emoji, to praise Correa’s strong show of support to his mum.
