Locals raised the alarm that bandits fleeing from the military onslaught in Zamfara State were sighted just a kilometer away from Birnin Gwari local government headquarters.

Rev Joseph John Hayab, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kaduna State, has revealed that 14 out of the over 40 worshippers kidnapped in a Kaduna church by bandits last Sunday have regained freedom. 

Locals raised the alarm that bandits fleeing from the military onslaught in Zamfara State were sighted just a kilometer away from Birnin Gwari local government headquarters.

On the released kidnap victims, Hayab said in a terse message to journalists on Thursday: “Yes some of them are back home but 25 are still with the bandits.”

”A woman with her child returned after they abandoned her in the bush.”
