Barcelona could replace Quique Setien after the former Real Betis manager failed to win the La Liga title this season. The club’s directors could turn to Patrick Kluivert to replace the under-fire manager who replaced Ernesto Valverde during the midway this season in the Spanish top flight.

The report in Mundo Deportivo claims that Kluivert, who is the club’s academy director.

The publication claims that the Barcelona squad see Kluivert as a good replacement as he is well acquainted with how the Blaugrana should be playing. If Kluivert were to take over, it would not be his first experience in the dugout.

Kluivert has a wealth of knowledge at his disposal, he was the assistant manager of NEC Nijmegen in 2009, and the Twente U21 boss the following year.

The former Barcelona attacker was also the assistant manager under former Barcelona coach Louis van Gaal with the Netherlands national team when they managed third place at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil before he took over as the head coach of the Curacao national team.
