Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie de Jong, has not ruled out leaving the club this summer.

However, the 25-year-old will prefer to join Bayern Munich instead of Manchester United.

United are pushing to sign De Jong ahead of the new season, but have failed to reach a breakthrough in negotiations.

Amid uncertainty concerning his future, the Dutchman has joined his Barca teammates for their pre-season tour of the United States.

While United and Chelsea are the teams most strongly linked, but Bayern could have the financial sway to steal a march.

And, with De Jong’s compatriot Matthijs de Ligt on the verge of signing, the Bundesliga champions could have another advantage.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, De Jong has ruled out a United move, while he would need ‘a sensational offer’ to consider joining Chelsea.
