BBNaija Season 9: Toyosi hints at separation from Damilola

BBNaija season 9 housemate, Toyosi has suggested that she and Damilola, her partner in Team Tami, may go their separate ways after being evicted from the show on Sunday.

Despite their seven-year friendship, Toyosi revealed in a post-eviction interview with host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu that she is considering a split from Damilola.

This came following their brief stint in the Big Brother house where they were the first pair to be eliminated.

This exchange went thus …

Ebuka questioned the duo, “Are you going to continue living together?”

Damilola quickly responded; “Yeah.”

However, Toyosi’s reply was different as she said, “I love you so much but I feel like there has been a lot of tension. She has been blaming herself too much and I want her to think without me being there.”

Dami answered; “Would that be why?”

Toyosi said; “Yes, you are blaming yourself too much, when you see me, you keep blaming yourself and I, on the other hand, would like to think too. I don’t think I would be able to be in the same space with someone who is blaming herself, it makes me very sad.”

At this point, Ebuka then queried Damilola for her thoughts on Toyosi’s decision, she said … “I’m too stunned to speak.”

Ebuka, noticing the palpable tension between them, intervened, urging them to have an open and honest conversation to address their emotions.

He said, “Final note, what’s next? Maybe you guys have not had this conversation yet, there’s a lot of emotions bottled up. You haven’t expressed how you feel so hearing that now, I think what needs to happen is both of you sitting down.”

As the conversation reached a boiling point, Toyosi and Damilola simultaneously broke down in tears, overcome with emotion.

Ebuka concluded, “If you’ve been friends for 7 years, I think you should know how to communicate with each other.

“Sit down and say how you feel. I don’t think a week in Big Brother’s house should damage friendship. You’re obviously hurt for different reasons.”
