Belarusian Premier League side Dynamo Brest have come up with an ingenious way to fill up their stadium during the coronavirus crisis.
The club have been filling up empty stands with mannequins and cut-out portraits as they continue to play football despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Belarus remains the only country in Europe where football is carrying on as usual, with their president Alexander Lukashenko bizarrely insisting that vodka and saunas can cure the deadly bug.
But supporters are finally beginning to take notice of how dangerous coronavirus is, which has lead to fewer fans attending games, forcing one particular club to take action.
Dynamo Brest – who won the Premier League last season – have asked fans from across the globe to purchase virtual tickets online.
In return, their faces would be pasted on a mannequin that would be sitting inside the stadium.
And those that bought the tickets would also receive a matchday programme sent to their house.
Faces of people could be seen on stuffed dummies during Brest’s 2-0 victory over Shakhtyor Soligorsk in the Belarusian Cup on Wednesday.
Each mannequin was also given a different football shirt, with past kits of Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan and even Aston Villa caught on cameras.
People from the United Kingdom, Iran, Russia and the United Arab Emirates all had their faces in the stands, with the club taking to social media to thank those taking part.
