Benfica have confirmed defender, Tyronne Ebuehi has been ruled out from Super Eagles next month international friendly against Ukraine at the Dnipro Arena.

The 23-year-old right-back suffered a muscle injury during the Primeira Liga side training last week but the Nigeria international spent the whole of last season nursing a cruciate ligament he copped with against with Juventus saw him spend 340 days on the sidelines. According to newspaper A Bola claims that Ebuehi is expected to be out for between three and six weeks and may not be match fit for September 10 encounter for Super Eagles against Ukraine in Kyiv.

The Portugal media reported that Benfica medical team have sent notes to Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) before any decision can be made over the availability of the former ADO Den Haag star who has just played only 28 minutes of football so far since one year ago.Ebuehi joined Benfica from Dutch side ADO Den Haag after 2010 FIFA World Cup in Russia but right-back suffered a long-term injury prevented him from making his official debut for Benfica as he spent close to 12 months in the recuperating room but he hopes to challenge for a spot at the Estádio da Luz Lisbon in the coming season.Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr will now have to wait longer before having the talented young right-back into the national team.
