Chelsea longest-serving player Lucas Piazon has finally left the Stamford Bridge outfit, according to report in English media.

The Brazilian attacker joined Chelsea in 2011 from Sao Paulo in a transfer fee of £5m under the tutelage of Carlo Ancelotti, but Andre Villas-Boas had arrived in the summer for Piazon’s first season at the club.

Chelsea beat top European clubs to the signature of Piazon and much expectation was expected from the Brazilian even at the tender age of 17-years-old.

Piazon impressed with the youth team but his progression to the first team was slow and he was limited to only one Premier League appearance, which was the game against Aston Villa.

The attacker was constantly on the move as he was sent on loan at Malaga, Vitesse, Eintracht Frankfurt, Reading, Fulham, Chievo and Rio Ave.

Piazon signed his latest contract extension at Chelsea in 2019, extending his stay until the summer of 2021, but even then said he was ready to leave. ‘My time at Chelsea is already over,’ he told A Bole in September 2019.

‘I’m 25, I’ve been on loan several times. I’ve been at Chelsea since 2011, I’ve been on loan almost all over Europe. ‘I’m tired of playing here and there, I need a place where I can feel at home.

I want to know that in July I will return to the same place, to the same house. ‘I’d have a good season on loan, but I’d come back and was soon loaned again. ‘There was no point in going out on loan, playing well, coming back, not being used and being loaned again.

‘There comes a time in your career that makes no sense anymore. By the way, I said exactly that three years ago and it didn’t go so well at Chelsea, it generated some discomfort.’
