Chelsea Set To Make World Record Signing

Chelsea is set to make a world record signing as the Blues edge closer to securing a deal for Juventus defender Alex Sandro for a new world-record fee for a defender.

The Premier League Champions has already signed Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Alvaro Morata this summer despite a slow start in the summer transfer market that almost got the manager frustrated.

Antonio Conte wants to assemble a squad that can compete domestically and in the Champions League, his signings will be crucial in the Premier League title defence as well as in the Champions League.

According to The Sun, Chelsea could also address another key problem at left-back or left wing-back, as they’re nearing a deal for Sandro.

It will cost them a staggering £61m to sign the Brazilian though, as per the report, which would set a new world record transfer fee for a defender, eclipsing what was spent on Benjamin Mendy by Manchester City earlier this month.

Conte knows Marcos Alonso needs a competition at the left-wing -back and aside from that with more games will be played this season when compared to last season due to their involvement in the Europe most prestigious competition.

The Italian tactician is pressing hard to add another four players to his current squad before the end of the transfer window.
