Chicago, IL (February 8, 2024) – The Chicago Sky announced today the signing of guard Kysre Gondrezick to a training camp contract. Gondrezick, the fourth overall pick in the 2021 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever, adds depth and potential firepower to the Sky’s backcourt.
The 23-year-old Gondrezick appeared in 19 games for the Fever during her rookie season, averaging 1.9 points and 1.1 assists per game. While her playing time was limited, her collegiate career at West Virginia University showcased her ability to score and distribute, averaging 16.3 points and 3.5 assists per game.
“We’re excited to welcome Kysre to our training camp,” said Sky head coach James Wade in a press release. “She’s a talented young guard with a strong work ethic and a passion for the game. We believe she has the potential to contribute to our team and we’re eager to see her compete for a roster spot.”
Gondrezick joins a talented backcourt in Chicago, featuring All-Star Courtney Vandersloot and veteran Allie Quigley. The Sky are coming off a WNBA championship in 2023 and look to repeat in 2024. Adding Gondrezick to the mix provides depth and competition for playing time, pushing the entire backcourt to be at their best.
