Christiansen and Beth wins Women PFA Player of the year and Young Player of the year awards

Manchester City midfielder Izzy Christiansen has been awarded PFA Women’s Player of the Year for 2015-16.

The 24-year-old scored six goals in 14 appearances in the Womens Super League 1 last season after she joined from Birmingham.

All her six goals came in the last seven games to help Manchester City secure a second-place finish and Champions League qualification.

“I’m delighted to win such a prestigious award” Izzy said on winning the Women’s PFA Players’ Player of the Year!

Meanwhile, Sunderland’s Beth Mead won PFA Young Women’s Player of the Year award, announced at Grosvenor House in London on Sunday.

The 20-year-old England U23 international was last season’s top-scorer in the Womens Super League 1 with 12 goals.

“I never expected to win an award like this” Beth said after winning the Women’s PFA Young Player of the Year!
