A Nigerian female content creator has been heavily criticized after a viral video showed her walking into a carwash and paying for a full-body cleanup.
In the clip circulating online, the lady interrupted a group of teenagers washing a car and offered to pay three times the regular car wash fee for the same service. The workers agreed, and she was filmed being scrubbed and rinsed like a vehicle.
The stunt sparked widespread debate, with many questioning the state of creativity in skit-making. Popular Nigerian comedian Klinton Cod reposted the video, condemning the act and criticizing major influencers for endorsing such content.
He lamented the decline in creative standards within the industry and suggested that content creators should be registered and licensed to curb what he described as a growing nuisance.
Agreeing with Klinton Cod’s opinion, a social media user @alsinasteve reacted, “We’re losing our morals since social media started paying people..they can do anything for money and fame.”
Another user @justice_crack added, “I believe a revolution is coming in the content creation industry. If we all continue to call out bad content, our content creation industry will change for the better over time.”
