An Osogbo Magistrates’ court has arraigned a 35-year-old man, Diya Seyi for defrauding a man of N250,000.

The defendant, it was said, committed the offence on June 10, 2021, at Onibueja area Osogbo.

The Police Prosecutor, ASP Fagboyinbo Abiodun, told the court that Seyi fraudulently obtained the sum of N250,000 from one Akangbe Olusola with the pretence of selling house chairs and an air conditioner to him knowing fully it was false.

Abiodun accused the defendant of stealing and converting the money into personal use.

He said Seyi committed the offence contrary to and punishable under section 419, 390(9) of criminal code Laws of Osun State, 2022.

The accused who did not have any legal representation, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Magistrate A. Adeyeba remanded the accused at Ilesa prison and adjourned the case to 18th of November, 2021.
