Court sentences BRT Driver to death by hanging for Bamise Ayanwola’s murder

A Federal High Court in Lagos has sentenced a BRT driver, Andrew Ominikoron, to death by hanging for the murder of Bamise Ayanwola, a 22-year-old fashion designer.

Gistreel recalls that Bamise Ayanwola tragically passed away in 2022 after boarding a BRT bus.

However, she was declared missing, and her lifeless body was subsequently discovered.

The trial for Bamise Ayanwola’s death commenced with the prosecution presenting evidence, accusing the BRT driver of involvement in her tragic demise.

According to the judgment delivered by Justice Serifat Sonaike, the prosecution proved beyond reasonable doubt that the defendant was guilty of the crime.

The verdict has sparked widespread acclaim online, with many expressing excitement and relief that justice has been served in Bamise Ayanwola’s case.
