Cristiano Ronaldo scored the only goal as Juventus won the Italian Super Cup with a 1-0 win over 10-man AC Milan.
The game, controversially taking place in Saudi Arabia, was decided by the Portugal international’s second-half header as Juventus claimed the trophy for the first time in three seasons.
Juve were dominate in the first half and Douglas Costa fired a shot across goal and narrowly wide before JoaoCancelo drove just the wrong side of the far post.
Blaise Matuidi had the ball in the net just after the half-hour mark but he had strayed offside.
Ronaldo’s first opportunity arrived three minutes before the interval, but his attempted scissor kick hit the turf before bouncing up and over the crossbar.
On the hour mark, Ronaldo struck.
MySportDab report the 33-year-old ghosted in behind Milan’s defensive line and glanced Miralem Pjanic’s ball over the top past Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Milan appealed for offside, but in vain.
Paulo Dybala thought he had scored a spectacular second after a series of one-twos, first with Ronaldo and then Matuidi, but the Frenchman was offside once more and the celebrations cut short.
