“Davido can run for Governor and win, Burna Boy can’t” — Music executive Seyi Sodimu

Music executive Seyi Sodimu has shared his thoughts on the influence of Nigerian music stars beyond the stage, drawing a clear line between Burna Boy and Davido.

Speaking on What I Know podcast hosted by actress Shaffy Bello, the former singer praised Burna Boy’s strength as a live performer.

According to him, Burna Boy has conquered the stage and is very good live. However, when it comes to public appeal outside music, especially politics, Sodimu believes Davido stands on a different level entirely.

In his words:

“Burna Boy has conquered the stage and is good live. Davido surpasses music; if he ran for Governor today, he will win. I don’t think Burna Boy could win as Governor.”
