Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne says he is not bothered if Barcelona’s Lionel Messi joins the club as they have enough good players to help the club achieve its goal.

The Argentine informed the Catalan club of his decision to leave this summer with the Cityzens his potential destination as a reunion with Pep Guardiola was on the cards but Barcelona insisted on his 700million dollars release club which made it impossible for his to exit Spain for the premier league.

“I don’t really care to be honest,” he added. “If he comes it’s a good thing, if he doesn’t there is enough good players at the club who I enjoy playing with, so that is not for now.”

Meanwhile,  De Bruyne is open to signing a new contract at the Etihad despite having two-and-a-half years to run on his current deal.

“I am very happy at the club, I can say now I have not spoken once to the club so I don’t know why people are saying I have already agreed to something,” he said.

“I always told everybody I am really happy at the club and I feel comfortable so if the people at the club want to talk to me I am open to that and we will see what happens. But at the moment nothing has happened so I just get on with the way it goes.”

De Bruyne is expected to start for Belgium when they play England at Wembley on Sunday.
