Doctor shares story of ending relationship over PCOS, says ex now has three children

A medical doctor has shared a personal story about ending a relationship due to concerns over fertility linked to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).

According to his account, the woman he was dating was experiencing severe PCOS and significant hormonal imbalance, reportedly having her menstrual cycle only once a year for two days.

He stated that after seeking medical evaluation, he believed her chances of conceiving were extremely low, less than five percent.

The doctor explained that he struggled with the emotional weight of potentially facing long-term fertility challenges if they got married.

He admitted he was not prepared for what he described as the mental and spiritual strain of hoping and waiting for a child.

He eventually ended the relationship after what he described as a difficult but honest conversation.

However, he revealed that years later, the woman went on to have three children, a development he said reminded him that life can be unpredictable.

His words …

“I ended a relationship with a woman because she was dealing with severe PCOS and significant hormonal imbalance.

She only had her period once a year, and it would last for just two days. We sought medical help, but the results were very discouraging.

As a medical doctor, I understood that her chances of conceiving were extremely low, less than 5%.

I had to ask myself whether I was prepared for the emotional and mental strain of waiting and hoping if we eventually got married.

I wasn’t ready to face the ongoing stress, moving from one prayer program to another, all in the hope of having a child.

One day, I sat her down and told her I needed to end the relationship. It was difficult and emotional at first, but eventually, we were able to reach a place of understanding.

That wasn’t even the end of the story. Guess what? She now has three children. Life truly has a way of surprising us.”
