According to Gerard Romero, Barcelona have accepted Man United’s £51 million bid (€60 million) for Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong. The deal was offered after John Murtough met Erik ten Hag in Amsterdam today and Barcelona have taken no time in accepting the offer.

Xavi made it pretty clear last week, take a pay cut or leave the club, Barca couldn’t afford his €350k/week contract as per their new wage structure. They also needed money to fund the rebuild. Gerard Pique is next to leave the club, no player who is making over €250k/week at Barcelona will be at the club next season. Xavi also believes the duo of Pedri and Gavi has a better potential than de Jong.
