East Africa music sensation Masauti, famous for his chart-topping hits like Kipepe and Burudani, has announced changes to the cities scheduled for his first tour of the United Kingdom this May 2025.
The venues for the tour that will kick off during the May Bank Holiday are Nala Lounge, Bournemouth (May 23rd) where tickets to the show also give attendees free entry to the after party at premium nightspot Bar So, Bournemouth, followed by Xscape Venue, Northampton (May 24th), and Ekelipse, Manchester (May 25th).
Masauti had announced the tour in January 2025 and had earlier published London and Birmingham as cities he would perform , but both cities have now been removed from the flyer.
A joint statement submitted to our press team by his management company One Wash Promotions, his second manager Charles Mwadime and the UK-based artiste booking agents KumPliCit Media stated that “the changes were as a result of logistics concerns which need to be sorted before the two major UK cities will be added to the venues again”.
Last year, the Eastern African artiste Masauti (a.k.a Kenyan Bwoi or Mswazzi), born Mohammed Ali Said, had led fans to believe he had challenges with a cheating lover in what many have now come to believe was a publicity stunt.
On the creative front however, he has consistently captivated audiences with his unique blend of Afropop and emotive storytelling since his emergence in 2017. His 2023 EP, “This Is Me” offers an intimate glimpse into his musical evolution, presenting a collection of tracks that celebrate the multifaceted nature of love.
The EP opens with “Case,” where Masauti’s polished vocals delve into the depths of desire, setting a passionate tone for the album. A sing like “Woman” showcases his vibrant energy, infusing a midtempo dancehall rhythm that invites listeners to the dance floor.
“Caro” stands out with its soft, hypnotic beat, providing a canvas for Masauti’s heartfelt serenade, while “Feeling” highlights his mesmerizing singing, encapsulating the EP’s candid exploration of affection.
This Is Me marks a departure from Masauti’s earlier work, such as his 2020 self-titled debut LP, which was characterized by emotional honesty and reflections on love.
The 2023 EP introduces a more upbeat and celebratory mood, emphasizing the joyous aspects of romantic relationships. The EP’s impact is evident in its reception, with tracks like “Caro” climbing music charts and resonating with audiences across Africa and the rest of the world.
Masauti’s “This Is Me” EP is a testament to his growth as an artist, blending catchy melodies with heartfelt lyrics. It solidifies his position in the Kenyan music scene and showcases his ability to evolve while staying true to his cultural roots.
