Edwin Van Der Sar has written an open letter to Manchester United after the transfer of Donny Van De Beek. The Ajax CEO was very integral in the transfer.
The Donny Van De Beek transfer seems to be one of the most pleasant deals done for a very long time.
With Manchester United signing the Dutchman for a total of £40 million if add-ons are met, the incredibly good relations between United and Ajax have been on display.Advert
Edwin Van Der Sar, the former Manchester United great and current Ajax CEO has had a very important role in securing the transfer.
The Dutch giant reportedly helped speed up the deal and has continued his great work by penning an open letter to United and their fans.
In the letter, Van Der Sar introduces Van De Beek to the United fans, and compares the two clubs similarities and their many shared philosophies.
The Ajax CEO ends the letter expressing the hope that United fans will treat Van De Beek well, and that he couldn’t be going to a better club due to the past he shares with the Manchester team himself.
The incredible goodwill from both clubs should be music to each fans’ ears.
With Ajax being one of the best developers of youth since the times of Rinus Michels in the 70s, and United’s penchant to sell players on the cheap with teams they have good relations with, both teams should benefit greatly from the partnership.
United currently have two Ajax academy graduates now with Van De Beek’s arrival, and Timothy Fosu-Mensah.
The two of them grew up together in the Ajax academy, and with Van De Beek taking #34 for United to commemorate their old teammate Abdelhak Nouri.
